Case A (financial aspects)
What we will illustrate here will give a rough overview of the financial aspects of a fifty-five year old employee who suffers a burnout. This person earns Fr. 96’000.-. From a day to another, this person is on sick-leave and judged unable to work (100%). This absence lasts for one entire year. After that, the person is judged able to re-initiate work at 50% and this till his retirement, therefore earning Fr. 48’000.-/year. He finds immediately a new job where he can employ the rest of his work capacity:

- Salary payment owed by the employee, 30 days 100% = Fr. 8000.-
- Salary payment health insurance 11 month at 80% = Fr. 70400.-
- Invalidity allowance IV (9 years 50%, incl. partner allowance; basis Fr. 1300.-/month) = Fr. 140400.-
- Invalidity allowance for the pension fund for 9 years (9 years, 50%, Basis Fr. 1200.-/ month) = Fr. 129600.-
- Health insurance for treatment (rehabilitation 6 weeks Fr. 9000.-, general medicine, psychotherapy and drugs) = Fr. 35000.-
