Welcome and instructions
Below you will find the Hamburg Burnout Inventory (HBI), a self test for burnout. It has been developed, normed and validated by Prof. Matthias Burisch, University of Hamburg.
Simply follow the flow that is proposed. The test will take you approximately 10-12 minutes to complete. Every item must be answered (the system will remind you if you forget).
Once you are through, you will find your profile of test scores, including explanations of the meaning of each score. We suggest that you print your profile and file it for further references. It might be useful to use as a discussion point with your physician, therapist, or counsellor.

Remarks
This test is made available to you by Swiss Burnout. Both Swiss Burnout and the University of Hamburg reserve themselves the right to use in an anonymous way the collected data for scientific research purposes.
The self test in English is currently under finalization. You may use the beta version for the time being. Be aware, however, that the norming of the English version is still under way. Nevertheless this does not affect your scores as such, only the comparison standard may change later.
